About

How my journey
became
my calling.

Hi, I’m Jami.

You've spent your whole life wondering why some things feel so much harder for you than everyone else.

Maybe you're an entrepreneur who can launch a brilliant idea at midnight but can't return a simple email. Maybe you're a parent who finally got answers when your child was diagnosed — and suddenly your own childhood made sense. Maybe you're supporting an aging parent whose clutter, chaos, and "stubbornness" is starting to look a lot like something else entirely. Or maybe you're the older adult who has quietly wondered your whole life why you couldn't just get it together.

Whatever brought you here — you're in the right place.

I'm Jami Shapiro — ADHD coach, Certified Senior Advisor, keynote speaker, and host of the Grandma Has ADHD podcast.

My path to this work wasn't straight (whose is?). For over a decade, I ran Silver Linings Transitions, helping older adults and their families navigate the emotional chaos of downsizing and moving. Year after year, I saw the same patterns: impossible decisions, piles that never got smaller, unfinished projects everywhere. Eventually, I realized what I was really seeing — undiagnosed ADHD hiding in plain sight.

I'd seen it in my mother my whole life. I'd lived it myself as an entrepreneur, struggling with consistency and keeping all the balls in the air. And even though I'd been diagnosed alongside my own child eight years earlier, I hadn't fully reckoned with what that meant.

When I finally did? Everything changed.

My relationship with my mother shifted from a lifetime of frustration to genuine compassion. I became a better boss, a better partner, a better parent. Understanding the brain behind the behavior changes everything — and that's exactly what I'm here to help you do.

You’re not too late.
And you’re definitely
not alone.

My mission.

To turn a lifetime of "what's wrong with me?" into "this explains everything" — so people can stop managing their struggles and start leveraging their strengths.
